Picking for a winter havest

Our family loves the fresh berries. We go out in the summer time and pick enough to freeze ourselves so that we can enjoy them in the winter months as well.

It is a great way to spend a day with the wife and kids, have some fun, and those berries on a hot bowl of cereal in December makes it all worth while. - Robert Wood

Blueberrys

Having grown up in Michigan, I started picking blueberry\'s for part time cash at the age of 12. Since then, I have always come to associate them with summer and fun times.
The problem is that in today\'s global economy, you can buy them in the middle of winter. Fresh to your grocer from Latin America. If you are willing to pay six dollars a pint, you can have blueberrys that have travelled over 5,000 miles and consumed more gasoline in the transport than I care to think about. Now that it\'s summer though, I can get them at the farmers market and I can get enough. - Adam
