If anyone is interested in reading further about raw milk, some personally recommended sources are as follows:

1)The Milk Book by William Campbell Douglass II
((lots of great information on raw vs. pasteurized milk including the propaganda against it in spite of the factual statistics found in source 2 below))
2)The professional report that overturned the ban in California which I set as my website ((contains lots of statistics on food-related illness and its connection not to raw but to pasteurized milk))
3)Pottenger\'s Cats (cat studies with raw milk)
4) Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Dr. Price (an anthropological study of peoples drinking raw milk (among other dietary habits) and their health) - Michael Dunbar

I suspect irradiation to kill the \'bad germs\' would also be taboo since it might also alter the suggested \'good stuff\' also.

I know with some water supplies, it is passed through sand, carbon and \'lit up\' with high intensity ultraviolet lights. I\'m not certain about the sand and carbon filters but might not UV exposure do some \'good\' while not messing with the integrity of the milk? - net97surferx

This isn\'t the most constructive comment, I\'m sorry, but I really just don\'t understand why people drink milk anyway. The majority of people in the world are lactose intolerant, whether they know it or not, and it\'s extremely unnatural and just gross when you think about it. I just don\'t get why people would be fighting so hard for something I wouldn\'t touch with a ten foot pole, I guess. But if they want, people should be able to buy whatever they want locally, just maybe make the person selling it responsible for educating the buyer as to the dangers, or something. - Terra
