The Capitol's rose garden is probably really nice, but how about a community garden that produces food for local schools and food pantries? That's what one organization is asking the next president to plant: The White House Organic Farm, or "TheWhoFarm." We know community gardens are sprouting up across the U.S., serving as models of self-sufficiency and healthy, sustainable living. TheWhoFarm could serve as an educational tool for visitors to the most celebrated home in the nation, and provide school children the opportunity to garden. And it sure beats that Scotts lawn look. TheWhoFarm project has come up with five articles for this mission, listed after the jump. Article I: The Farmers Source: TheWhoFarm Comments (5)

Article V: The Soil
The White House Organic Farm will use healthy topsoil, nourished by compost supplements from yard and food waste from all three branches of the federal government; from The White House, from The United States Capitol, and from The United States Supreme Court. written by watches, July 09, 2010

It's true what our moms said...we are what we eat. In fact, it's truer than they thought. What I eat doesn't just affect me anymore, it affects all of us.
Unfortunately, the story of food can sometimes be complicated. But envirovores help each other out...which is why this blog will be bringing you news, tips, and information about food and the environment every step of the way.
